Members of Parliamentary Committee visit SOS Children’s Village Dar es Salaam

On 20^th February 2012 members of the Parliamentary Committee on HIV/AIDS in Tanzania  visited the SOS Children’s Village Dar es Salaam. The delegation included 15 MPs and three parliamentary staff officials.

DHL Global Forwarding delivers 1,500 bednets towards fight against Malaria in Tanzania

DHL, the leading logistics company, today announced that DHL Global Forwarding Tanzania, the freight and forwarding division of DHL has donated 1,500 mosquito nets to non-governmental institutions (NGOs) in Tanzania, in a bid to boost the fight against Malaria in the country. The Long-Lasting-Insecticide-Treated Nets (LLINs) contributed by DHL will benefit SOS Children’s Village Tanzania, which will receive 1,000 nets, while the remaining nets will be delivered to other NGOs in need of support. The donation was made on behalf of delegates of the inaugural Africa-Singapore Business Forum (ASBF).

SOS Children's Villages Tanzania Celebrate ''40 Years in Africa'' in grand Style

It was celebrations galore as the Tanzania arm of the SOS Children’s Villages celebrated the ‘40 Years in Africa’. SOS in Tanzania now supporting 387 children in 3 Villages and 1415 in families of origin felt they had so many reasons to celebrate. September 10th 2011 was a day to remember for the children, staff and visitors who were present. The party which took place in the luscious grounds of the Dar es Salaam CV had an ambience which was full of joy, as the children got ready to host their guests.

Once again as we approach the closing of the year, I am happy to send you our warm greetings from SOS Children's Village Dar es salaam, a loving home for every child; greetings that we hope will spice your enjoyment of the upcoming festive season of Christmas and the New Year. This Village that you love this year is reaching the 5^th year since it was innaugurated in November 2007; the Village has grown and so have the children! As a consequence, we now have a temporaly youth home, which has already, been approved into a full fledged youth facility from 1^st January 2013. Right now 12 of our children have moved into this new youth home.
